It is made of ladyfingers (savoiardi) dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of eggs, sugar and mascarpone cheese, flavoured with cocoa.
The recipe has been adapted into many varieties of cakes and other desserts. "Carry me up" is the translation for tiramisu, pronounced tir-ruh-mee-SOO.
This rich Italian dessert is usually made with mascarpone, a buttery rich, slightly sweet and smooth Italian cream cheese.
You can have Tiramisu using 8 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you cook that.
Ingredients of Tiramisu
- You need 3 of paquets de biscuits cuillère.
- Prepare 30 cl of cafe fort.
- You need 3 of jaunes d’oeufs.
- You need 90 gr of sucre.
- Prepare 250 gr of mascarpone.
- You need 15 cl of crème fleurette.
- You need 1 CS of Marsala.
- It's 50 gr of cacao en poudre non sucré.
Tiramisu, however, has a few signature components that set it apart. The filling starts with a zabaglione — which is a fancy name for egg yolks whisked with sugar and marsala wine (or rum, in our case) over a double-boiler until light, pale and foamy. This zabaglione establishes the flavor of the whole dish. Tiramisu is a classic no-bake Italian dessert combining espresso-dipped ladyfingers and a creamy lightly sweetened mascarpone cream.
Tiramisu instructions
